As a bartender you'll be mixing and serving drinks in bars and restaurants, and nutrients that you prepared her will either be standard or custom. The way that you deliver the drinks will be you will either prepare them in front of the customer or you will send them to the customer by waiter. When you are bartender you have to make sure that you track tabs and make sure you charge customers at the end of the night before they leave. You will also have to make sure you have all that you need at the bar making sure that you are stocked well, and you need to be pouring beer, wine and creating cocktails very often.
You need to make sure that you check for I.D. before serving anyone making sure that they are of age to drink, and you also need to make sure that your work area is always kept clean and welcoming for customers. Glasses and utensils absolutely have to remain clean.
The real question is whether or not being a bartender is a job or career. Because of the fact that there is such a high number of men and women who are quitting as bartenders, this profession is often seen as merely a job and not a career. Bartending can most definitely lead to a very rewarding career especially if you work at a large bar like a well-known restaurant or hotel. You can be employed as the “lead bartender” working alongside and supervising other bartenders.
The training that a bartender gets usually occurs from on the job experience. There are of course many classes and vocational schools for bartending, but many bartenders would usually gain that experience and training by working first as a waiter or by assisting a bartender. There are some states that are going to require bartenders to ask to have a license or a state health certificate to be able to work. As a bartender you have to learn how to multitask while at the same time keeping your atmosphere full of life and intrigue for your customers as you prepare their drinks.
